This batik is about 30" x 55" and shows a woman carrying a basket of fruit on her head. She is out in the bush where a baobab features prominently in the background. See also some calabash bowls and a mortar and pestle, which are articles used by women in their daily lives. The three abstract faces--one beyond the women, one in the crook of her arm, and one mear the mortal & pestle may represent children or bush spirits.
